| Description: | This natural area was not examined in the field, but data in the RMOC (Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton) Geographic Information System database indicates that it is mainly poplar and red maple forest on acidic sand plain. Some fairly large wetland communities (red maple and ash swamp) also exist. Poplar forests on non-acidic sand are also present. Most of this area is part of the Pine Grove Forest Reserve owned by the NCC. [Brownell and Blaney 1997] |
