Description: A Provincially significant wetland complex, made up of three individual wetlands, composed of two wetland types (51.7% swamp and 48.3% marsh) (Harnden and Hudson, 1987).

Vegetation: Vegetation Communities (Harnden and Hudson, 1987): One form M1: broad-leaved emergents- water plantain; S1: deciduous trees- Red Maple/Bur Oak/White Oak; M2: narrow-leaved emergents- grasses/sedges; Two forms M3: free-floating plants- duckweed; blueberry/Southern Arrow-wood; M4: narrow-leaved emergents- grasses/sedges; mixed herbs; S2: low shrubs- Southern Arrow-wood; Red Maple/Bur Oak/White Oak; Three forms S3: deciduous trees- Red Maple/Bur Oak; grasses/sedges; mixed herbs; M5: free-floating plants- duckweed; grasses/sedges; jewelweed/ferns; M6: robust emergents- cattails; grasses; duckweed; S4: narrow-leaved emergents- grasses/sedges; mixed herbs; blueberry/spirea; S5: low shrubs- blueberry/meadowsweet; mixed herbs; Red Maple/Bur Oak/White Elm; Four forms M7: free-floating plants- duckweed; willow; mixed herbs; Red Maple/Bur Oak; S6: narrow-leaved emergents- grasses; spirea; mixed herbs; Red Maple/Bur Oak/White Oak; M8: free-floating plants- duckweed; dead deciduous; grasses/sedges; blueberry/Southern Arrow-wood; M9: herbs- mixed herbs; blueberry; grasses/sedges; duckweed; Five forms S7: low shrubs- dogwood; dead deciduous; Red maple/Bur Oak; grasses/sedges; mixed herbs/ferns; M10: herbs- mixed herbs; duckweed; blueberry; spirea; grasses/sedge; S8: deciduous trees- Willow; blueberry; willow; grasses/sedges; mixed herbs; M11: free-floating plants- duckweed; grasses/sedges; willow; Bur Oak/Red Maple; mixed herbs; Six or more forms M12: low shrubs- spirea; cattails; grasses/sedges; duckweed; mixed herbs; Bur Oak/White Oak; M13: free-floating plants- duckweed; Southern Arrow-wood; mixed herbs; Red Maple/willow; dead deciduous; grasses/sedges;
