Ontario Odonata Atlas
Acknowledgements
The Ontario Odonata Atlas (OOA) could not have achieved success without the contribution of records from literally hundreds of Ontario biologists and naturalists. The number of contributors and observers of records contained within the database currently exceeds 650 (see contributors page) and we thank each and every one. The Ontario Odonata Atlas database continues to be greatly improved by the data received each year as part of the annual Ontario Odonata summary.
Funding in support of the Ontario Odonata Atlas has been provided primarily by the Natural Heritage Information Centre and the Species at Risk Program, Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, Peterborough.
Many of naturalists and biologists with an interest in Odonata have gone out of their way to gather and contribute large volumes of high quality data on the distribution of Ontario's Odonata. Some contributors answered an original call for records in the mid-1990s, while others have contributed on a yearly basis to the Ontario Odonata summary. Some of the largest contributors (most contributed hundreds or thousands of records) include: Dave Beadle, Bob Bowles, Bob Bracken, David Bree, Vivian Brownell, Susan Bryan, Peter Burke, Ian Carmichael, Paul Catling, Bob Curry, Robert DiFruscia, Jason Dombroskie, Nick Donnelly, Sid Dunkle, Darren Elder, Bruce Falls, Rob Foster, Matt Holder, Margo Holt, Ray Hutchinson, Colin Jones, Mike King, Andrea Kingsley, Brenda Laking, Michael Lauzon, Christine Lewis, Bill and Irene McIlveen, Chris Michener, Judith Nancekivell, Mark OBrien, Michael Oldham, Paul Pratt, Carey and Gwen Purdon, Chris Robinson, Carl Rothfels, Michael Runtz, Al Sinclair, William Stewart, Don Sutherland, Doug and Tozer, Michael Nancy van der Poorten, Dave Walker, Hal White, Al Wormington, and Bob Yukich. Assistance with computer programming, database management, and web page design were capably provided by Pete Sorrill, Sandy Gemmiti and Christine Phair. Apologies to any individuals we may have inadvertently overlooked.
