Description: Stoco Fen is a large, calcareous fen and swamp complex, regulated as a Provincial Nature Reserve, with additional land proposed for aquisition (Lindsay, 1986).

Vegetation: Scattered clumps of shrub thickets and stunted cedar and larch covers about 50 ha of the eastern part of the wetland. Mixed swamp forest (white cedar - larch - black spruce) surrounds the open fen (Lindsay, 1986).

Landform: Set in a shallow depression between two limestone uplands, the site is a mosaic of open graminoid fen with small marl pools (Lindsay, 1986).
